If you’re here it’s because you want to know what the “Spellbook of Memory - Location”, “Spellbook of Memory - Recall” and “Scrolls of Memory” are all about, and how they work. These three items work together to provide the player with the ability to set/save a location that they want to be able to immediately teleport to at any time.

What you’ll need:

  • 1x Spellbook of Recall - Location (5500 gold). "This book will teach you the spell Recall - Location. You must have grand-master (rank 5) proficiency in Sorcery to learn this spell.”
  • 1x Spellbook of Memory - Location (7500 gold). “This book will teach you the spell Memory - Location. You must have veteran (rank 6) proficiency in Sorcery to learn this spell.”
  • Scroll(s) of Memory (10000 gold each)

So you need to be Prestige Rank I with Veteran Sorcery (6) skill level to make full use of these spells.

The “Spellbook of Recall - Location” can be purchased from any Magic Shop under ‘Sorcery’. The “Spellbook of Memory - Location” can only be purchased from “The Enchanted Quill” in Avalon (2n) under 'Veteran Spells'. “Scrolls of Memory” can be purchased from any Magic Shop under ‘Scrolls’.

How it works… You will need to learn both Sorcery Spells, “Spellbook of Recall - Location” and “Spellbook of Memory - Location” and you will also need to have a “Scroll of Memory” available in your inventory. Walk to a location that you want to be able to teleport back to. For example, 1 screen left of a favorite dungeon. Then cast, “Memory Location” and click on the “Scroll of Memory” in your inventory. The scroll’s name will change to the name of the area you’re standing in, but you’ll want to rename by engraving it with your own description. For example, cast ‘Engrave’ and click on the renamed Scroll of Memory then call it whatever you like (probably the name of the dungeon you’re standing near).

You can now teleport back to this location at any time by casting “Memory - Recall Location” and clicking on the renamed/engraved Scroll of Memory to be brought back to this location.

Note: Once you’ve saved a location to a Scroll of Memory, it cannot be overwritten.

Why would you want to do this?… A very practical/common use for this spell is ‘Keeper Runs’. Without this spell, at the end of a ‘Keeper Run’ the player must either walk back to the cave entrance and re-enter the cave or complete the cave to the cave reset button. But with “Memory - Recall Location” the player can immediately return to 1 screen left (or right, or up, or down… whatever you prefer) of the cave entrance to restart the cave, saving heaps of time and ultimately allowing for many more ‘Keeper Runs’.

You will likely end up with a bunch of saved locations in the form of renamed/engraved Scrolls of Memory. I like to keep them all in a pouch in my inventory (to prevent accidental Etherealize or sale to a shopkeeper). Which reminds me, you can also set the inside of a shop in town as a recall location which is handy for a quick sale/repair and then recall back to the dungeon.
